Edinburgh

Tour Itinerary
Day 1
Taking the route north west past STIRLING, we make a stop at the WALLACE MONUMENT – scene of one of the most important moments in Scottish history. Following the scenic route into the Highlands we walk in GLENCOE – a glen both famous and infamous for its bloody history - and then continue north towards FORT WILLIAM, which nestles in the shadow of Scotland’s tallest mountain, BEN NEVIS. Walking in GLEN NEVIS you will soon realise why this amazingly beautiful and green place has been used as the site of such movies as ‘BRAVEHEART’, ‘ROB ROY’ and ‘HIGHLANDER’. You then have an evening to spend in FORT WILLIAM as you please.
Day 2
Our second day is an adventure to the North West - up the GREAT GLEN and then the ‘ROAD TO THE ISLES’. As we head west the mountains of KNOYDART begin to loom in the distance - the wild scenery of this part of Scotland has to be seen to be believed. Lochs cradled by tall peaks, as the road takes the narrow pass through KINTAIL, past the famous ‘FIVE SISTERS’ mountains. Reaching the sea, you take your first view of the famous EILEAN DONAN CASTLE, with the mountains of the island of SKYE in the distance – something you will never forget! We stop here for a visit to the castle, or for a walk by the sea to the nearby village. After lunch we then head for mysterious LOCH NESS.
Reaching LOCH NESS, we trace the road up to URQUHART, the medieval fortress perched on its banks. Hear about the legends and tales of this mysterious loch as we head towards INVERNESS, the capital of the Highlands. Our journey back to Edinburgh takes us through the wild CAIRNGORM and GRAMPIAN MOUNTAINS and then into the lush wooded hills of BLAIR ATHOLL. A two-day tour offering, all the variety of Highland landscape and history, with plenty time off the bus to enjoy it. An unforgettable experience!
