Tour Itinerary
Day 1 - 27th: Leaving Edinburgh at 8.30 a.m. we head straight for the Highlands. Our first stop is a gentle walk through the beautiful Hermitage Forest. Then on to a traditional Speyside distillery (Tomatin) to witness the ancient art of Whisky making, before heading further North for an emotional visit to tragic Culloden battlefield (Bonnie Prince Charlie’s last stand). Then it is over the Moray Firth to Carbisdale castle! After our evening meal you will be treated to some traditional live music – what a night!
Day 2 - 28th: It’s southwards again today to visit the infamous Loch Ness. Hear all the facts and legends surrounding Scotland’s most famous body of water. We drive down the whole length of the loch to Fort Augustus for a spot of lunch. After this we are heading to one of the finest glens – Glencoe for an energizing walk and the sad tale of the MacDonald's massacre. From here we head to Argyll with a stop to see hairy coos! Before settling into Oban – our home for tonight.
Day 3 - 29th: Its our last day today, but plenty to do along the way. We wind our way past Loch Etive and Loch Awe. We’ll stop at the beautiful St Conans Kirk and you’ll see rugged Kilchurn Castle. Then it’s down through Inverary to Loch Lomond for some lunch. Before we get home there is time to stop in Stirling to hear the tales of William Wallace and Robert the Bruce and how they fought for Scotlands freedom in the C13th. Then a short hop back to Edinburgh – true honourary Scots!
